Chen Style Taijiquan is the oldest of the major “family” styles of Taijiquan practiced today, and a primary influence on the origin of the popular Yang Style. In this workshop we will identify major principles of Taijiquan practice, and explore the unique characteristics of Chen Style, including the emphasis on spiraling energy. Our introductory practice will include foundation building exercises- Silk Reeling or Chan Ssu Gong– and the first few movements of Laojia Yi Lu, the old frame first form. If time permits we will round out the introduction with a two-person Tuishou exercise.
